Crying It Out

As I type this, our 21 month old Stella is "crying it out" in her crib. She has been a great "going to bed:er" but now she plays us like a fine tuned fiddle and things has to change. Mom & pop are in the driver seat. Wish me' luck - me' heart hurts;(

Yesterday morning, I started the day with a nice run along country roads here on our Canadian vacation. Sun & beautiful landscape. My hubby J runs about 10 to 12 miles per day and logs many miles a week - I on the other hand, less miles - but trying to become just as dedicated. This was my view!

Just back from a run with Stella in the stroller. Finished the 4 miles while chatting with my mom! Now, lunch and shower before she wakes up. She fell asleep in the stroller. Then Stella's lunch, the park for play and finish with the grocery store.

Some do the cleanse for weight loss. I have done it with stuff & things. Trinkets & gadgets. Garbage & unnecessary space-takers.

Since our move we have tossed 15 large black garbage bags, 2 suitcases filled with a full set of plates and coffee cups (12 settings), shoes and clothes to the Women Shelter. Our BBQ left, so did the microwave and an office chair and finally the leather sofa with matching ottoman. Our old patio set went and all the cushions for it. All old duvets and pillows along with the bedding.

Believe me, we still have a lot in the garage - however, it is mostly Stella's old things as in baby toys and clothes and of course our things we want to save. From hoarder to minimalist in a month!

It is part of my spring clean! Now, if I could drop the final lbs from Stella - I am all set! Phew!

Now, off to IKEA!! hahaha! I have room to fill ;)

Up early at 5.30AM, to get ready to take care of Green Card business. All said and done at 9.10AM. J went straight to SFO and S & hit Target! $XXX later we drove out of there, with plenty of fun and useful things & a Venti Ice Coffee! Now, Stella is Zzzzzzzz. The garderner has just left and the garden smells like flowers and newly cut grass! Bliss!

I just had a protein bar and now out to work on 'em freckles! Later, a new 4 mile route with the jogging stroller. I found a new route in our new 'hood - fabulous!

My J surprised me the other day with booking the three of us a little vacation in a few weeks to sunny So Cal & LA. We are staying 2 nights in the 90210 zip. Drive down Friday - dinner - Saturday Disneyland - Sunday - shopping/lunch and drive up to towards San Francisco along the coast. Stop a night along the way and finish off the trip here! Can't wait! It's been sometime since I was last in LA. Excited!

When Stella naps later today, I might just sit outside an work on the freckles and tonight, as J is out of town, I will unpack the guestroom/office/my closet - fun times! I LOVE looking through my clothes and accessories.

I Am Back!

Phew!

The move went smoother then anticipated - perhaps, thanks to my own moving service, where Stella and I moved the whole kitchen and all closets, the week J traveled. Anyhow, we are almost all set - minor details left, as in finding my Keihls face cream.... hmmm. I use it twice a day and it is gone!

I got up at 5AM to drive over to the old house and put out 12 garbage bags and an old office chair for our big garbage pick up. Now, J did it instead on his way to SFO - and I am here - on the laptop - breakfast in bed! A little me-time before Stella - Bella wakes up! Coffee & a breakfast pita is on the menu! You have to head over to Whole Foods and purchase some of these Canadian goodies! OMG! I have loved them for years, but I could never find them in the US. Finally - yesterday, I saw them!!!

We Have The Keys!

Stella & I went to get the keys to the new house, as Mr. J is out of town on business. I am in house heaven! Super cute and perfect. I packed the car with my whole closet in IKEA bags, however "my" walk in closet i size x small in the new place, so we are stopping by IKEA to get storage bins and I will be one of those ladies, who only keeps one season in her closet. Good thing California is pretty much one season - all year round!

I have all cute ideas for Stella's room, many of which I am painting white right now. Odd furniture are getting a bright coat of non VOC paint! It will be fresh, new and super pretty. My colors will be white, with grays, mint green and in Stella's room hot pink. I promise to show pics when I am all done.

Alrighty then ladies, I am off to grab a Tylenol for some aches and pains.... haha! I am getting old and I have been doing heavy lifting and head to bed - ready for a busy day tomorrow!

I collect and bring about 2 IKEA bags each quarter to our womans shelter. Anything from formula, shoes, clothes, plates and everything in between. Last time a fully functioning vaccume cleaner. Busy weeks these days. We are looking for a new "crib" - haha! And that takes up A LOT of time, so bare with me. First house - then blog. Anyhow, getting used to being with Mac, rather then PC - love it! A Snake

Stella and I went out for the 6K power walk this am. Mid stride & conversation with my sister this creature made a rather surprising appearance. Wow. I got cold and scared. It was huge. Over 2 m long and pretty dense... Brown with black pattern. He was moving along the side of the path, so we were ok and he was going the opposite direction. But wow. Scary. Now my first snake encounter in California is done with. I hope it was the last. I am pretty sure it was a Gopher Snake.

After writing an article about dumping frump - I took a good look in the mirror and realized, I should really practice what I preach. Problem is, the house we rent have very limited closet space. I even had a walk in closet in my university apartment, and now I have some very heavy mirror doors on a tiny little hole in the wall.

So, instead of crying over small closet spilled milk - S & I did our usual Tuesday run to IKEA. This time to buy some kind of shelving unit for our master bedroom, for me to display my 100's of accessories. Said and done. I came home with 2 units of LERBERG in white. Same units I use for the office and as entertainment center by the TV - so - I was thinking these units will look great in my future office/closet. You know, the day I work and make $$$ on this little dream I have......

Anyhow. SNAP. Back to today.... I now have the summer collection of scarves displayed on this perfect hanger, along with sunglasses, watches and other fun stuff - all gathered on this one shelf unit. My jewelry are still neatly stored as before.

With Stella in the Ergo baby carrier ( she is about 27 pounds), I skipped in to Ikea to purchase my patio set. Big cart on hand, I got help in loading the 73 lbs table and 6 chairs, each 25 lbs along with 6 navy cushions. Then the help was gone.

All I can say is on a rainy day you want to burn some calories. Park underground at Ikea and buy some very heavy and large furniture, preferably with a toddler in a pouch on you, and you should be set!

I put Stella in her car seat, loaded the SUV, drove home, put now sleeping S in her crib and unloaded the whole thing! Done.

I wouldn't dare wait for the wkend as the stock was low on all the items!

Rollin' back to the subject that started the post. Bracelets and watches. Bring it, wear it, own it. I swear I wear one kg of bracelets on a daily basis. I guess I should take that in to consideration for my AM weigh in..... hmmmm, that is a thought. I have thick hair and heavy bracelets. Now that is at least five pounderuskis..... don't you think.....

Watching Oprah and the Octomom. Wow. During the day when it is just Stella and I and I sometimes think I am busy.... I guess that is just not true. She has 13 more children.

Stella thought it was a great idea to be up from 10PM to 1.30AM, she was just fine until I tried to put her to bed. I, like in alone, like my J is traveling - so S & I are rollin' solo. Anyhow, she finally went down and she is still sleeping. It is 9.16AM. Wow. This never happens. She is a good sleeper, usually 7.30 to 7.30 - uninterrupted. So, we are missing Music Class as it starts in 14 minutes, about 15 min away from here. It is going to rain today, so I bought invisible finger paint and that will keep us busy for a good few hours (including cleanup! haha!) I actually don't think it will be messy at all.

As I type, a black cat has placed himself on our fence - I feel this day will be one hell of a lucky one! Little sleep and black cats. Perhaps I can brake a mirror, and I should be set for a few years!
Pardon my sarcasm, I am running on little to none sleep and I am only on my first faux latte (made with espresso powder, non steamed milk and hot water from our boiling water tap) - but oh, so good!

Finished 6K with Stella and just stopped at Lucky's for the essentials; rice cakes, eggs, US Weekly and a movie - New Moon. Almost like I have to watch Twilight again to recall where it ended..... Redbox is the way to go, $1 movies!!!

So, this post is extra funny for all my Swedish ladies.

I just started reading this awesome blog called SkinnyRunner.com - this girl is hilarious and she runs marathons. She is extremely inspiring - to the degree that I am signing up for a half marathon this summer. Scary - but fun!

Anyhow. So I am reading the blog, and look who I run into on a random pic..... Check out the pic and the name. It's KAMRAN Montazami from Swedish Hollywood Wives! Maria's husband. I think it is super funny that SkinnyRunner's husband is writing her a note on Kamran's real estate ads! Awesome!

I just got back from a very interesting evening, listening to Po Bronson talking about parenting and his book NurtureShock. I never read the book in advance, so I bought it tonight and will read it now. It was very interesting indeed and I learned a lot that Stella will benefit from! Good Night!
