People Style Watch, and I paid $5 for my last subscription. That is a STEAL. Now, reading PSW the other night, I was bored with all the gifts under $100's type of articles. There is one called,
Guilt Free Shopping - where there is a Kate Spade bag for $365 shown. Give me a break!!! If that is guilt free, then I don't know what is not. A Birkin?!
A $365 bag is a MAJOR purchase, one that shouldn't be thought of as guilt free, nor guilt - just a lot of thought spent on that buy! When you spend that hard earned ca$h on that
one bag (or two!), you want to know it is a classic, that you will love forever.
Over at RZ Inc, my reality obsession number ONE, Rachel Zoe is sending out daily blurbs (The Zoe Report) about fashion and this and that. Very fun, and I read them in the AM - every day. She has her favorites, then she has the
Parallel Universe alternative for us common folks. Sometimes, like today a DIOR Lipgloss vs a $6 brand. Great!! That is what I love. Has she ever tried the $6 brand?!! Or was it a quick google (sorry Bing) by Team Zoe to match her favorite Dior?! Not sure, but it still works for me, and I might even try the Dior. She posted a great Holiday Gift Guide, all under $100.
I guess I am the only one in the (parallel) universe who still thinks $100 is A LOT of money?! I never owned a pair of jeans over $50. These days, I get jeans at Nordsrom Rack and TJ Maxx for around $15 to $20. And those are nice jeans, I might add! I 98% buy on sale & clearance, and trust me -
you would not know. The other 2% would be some to me "
must haves", i.e Stella's UGGs and my LV bags!
Jokes aside, I just try to find deals, and it just annoys me that girls are reading these magazines, thinking a $365 Kate Spade bag is a Guilt Free purchase. Cause it is not.
