Toddler Trivia?!

Stella used to love all foods; veggies, meat, fruit, bread and dairy. Now, the last few days; all goes on the floor... BUT cheese, yogurt, banana, green peas and clementines - those she loves! She is 110% in height and 97 in weight, so no worries - I just need the mommy tricks!!!! Mamma, Doreen, Sherri, Auntie Deb, Auntie L, Lotta, Mia, Klara, Amy, Vicki, MrsKBJ and all you moms - help a sister out!

Xo, clueless mommy in Cali.

Madison has those days too! As soon as she starts playing with her food or throwing it over the tray, I take her tray off. We have that same bib too, and she loves to rip that off now too. I just bought 2 bibs that I really love, I think they are called bumpkins. I got them on amazon I got the toddler ones where the arms go through it, it is great and she can't pull it off. I got one long sleeved one and one shorter sleeve. As far as food she once loved and refuses now, in a week or so try cheese again. Madison loved string cheese, then hated it. She is back to loving it. Hope that helps a bit! :)

Well.... Nate gets a fussy appetite from time to time as well. He is in the 75th percentile for height and weight, so we aren't too worried either. One thing he seems to always like is butternut squash, so I just add everything to it so he will get bits of other foods. So 1 part peas for example, then 2 parts squash. Seems to work. He only has 2 teeth, so we are still in the baby food stage, but I am sure hoping he gets a few more teeth soon so he can eat a bit more real foods.

Good luck... this eating process is just trial and trial and trial, till something magically works!

Thanks!! I wrote that late last night, and I meant to say all she wants is banana, cheese, peas and bread. And she doesn't eat any thing sticky. So no sauce - or melted cheese. I even tried organic ketchup yesterday - everyone loves ketchup, no?!??

Let her eat what she wants...at least you should be happy that she want some good things. My kids all had a "only pancakes" and "only meatballs" phase..

Well, there's the old trick of playing "airplane" with the food on the fork or spoon, but that - at least in my experience with Arvid- looses it's thrill pretty quickly. He ate just about everything when he was Stellas age, but those foods that were especially yum made him wave his little hands back and forth and up and down. So, if there ever was a problem with eating we went for those things that we knew he loved and waited a few days until we tried introducing the new stuff again. All kids that age seem to love "smörgåsrån" or "majskrokar" (my translation: sugarefree wafers or all natural salt and fat -free corndoodles) for the crunchy-fun eating. About the food-on -the-floor bit: you can always put a waxed tablecloth under her chair, we did that a while when Arvid threw his oatmeal around.. or get a dog! Hubbe is very efficient when it comes to eating things that he finds om the floor.. During said throwing-stage, the dog always sat and waited under Arvid's chair, head raised as to see what delicious thing would fall down next! Good luck!
